To each surface its own material for pallet truck wheels and rollers
The industrial surfaces on which pallet trucks are to be moved can differ extremely depending on the different industrial environments.
In addition to this aspect, also the specific conditions of use must be taken into account, in order to foresee high humidity levels, the presence of chemicals agents, more or less heavy loads, type of handling and relevant speed.
For these reasons, pallet truck wheels and rollers must be chosen very carefully.
Materials of pallet truck rollers (under-fork)
Polyurethane rollers: polyurethane, in particular “TR” polyurethane produced by Tellure Rôta, leading company in the field, offers excellent smoothness and elasticity, as well as high resistance to wear and tearing.
The rollers made of this special type of material are excellent for use on electric pallet trucks, with heavy loads at medium and high handling speeds, featuring at the same time an excellent sliding properties in case of manual handling.
Vulkollan® rollers: also Vulkollan® rollers stand out for their smoothness and elasticity, ensuring excellent resistance to wear. These rollers are the most suitable ones for use at high speeds (over 10 and up to 16 km/h), especially in the version with labyrinths. They are recommended on tiles and concrete-resin surfaces and should not be used on dirt tracks or in the presence of processing residues. A further advantage is that they do not stain nor damage delicate surfaces.
They are suitable for industrial environments under normal conditions or in the presence of alcohols, glycols and hydrocarbons, but must not be used in case of organic and mineral acids, basic solutions and saturated steam.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane Rollers: they are suitable for use on manual pallet trucks and, unlike the previous ones, they can be used in environments with humidity and highly aggressive chemical agents.
They are therefore especially recommended for food, chemical and canning factories.
They feature excellent sliding properties that allow to handle heavy loads easily, together with remarkable smoothness and elasticity features, as well as a good resistance to wear and tearing.
Nylon (Polyamide 6) rollers: they feature excellent sliding properties and high resistance to impact and abrasion. They are suitable for industrial environments, even in the presence of humidity and aggressive chemicals, but should not be used with strong concentrated organic and mineral acids.
As regards flooring, these rollers can be used only on smooth and solid floors and are unsuitable in the case of obstacles along the path. They can damage delicate surface and be noisy.
They are suitable for use on manual pallet trucks, also in the presence of humidity and
highly aggressive chemical agents.
Their excellent sliding properties allow also easy handling of heavy loads.
Materials of pallet truck wheels (drawbar)
“TR-Roll” polyurethane wheels: In this case too, we talk about a product offered by Tellure Rôta. These wheels offer excellent performance, guaranteed over time, in case of use with mechanically handled heavy loads, at speeds up to 16 km/h. These industrial wheels feature also excellent sliding and vibration dampening properties and great performance when it comes to roll over obstacles.
They are suitable for all types of flooring, also for outdoor use and allow to roll over obstacles easily.
Thanks to their intrinsic characteristics, they are silent and do not damage nor stain floors.
Industrial environments: these wheels can be used also in the presence of alcohols, glycols and hydrocarbons, but should not be used in environments with organic and mineral acids, basic solutions and saturated steam. If they are used in highly corrosive environments, the manufacturing company recommends to apply a protective treatment on the metal parts.
Vulkollan® wheels: Excellent for application with heavy loads, also in case of high-speed mechanical handling. Combined with proper brackets, they ensure excellent performance up to 16 km/h, together with superior sliding properties.
They are suitable for use on tiles and concrete-resin surfaces and should not be used on dirt tracks or in the presence of processing residues. Another important aspect: they do not stain nor damage delicate floors.

They are suitable to be used in environments with atmospheric agents, alcohols and glycols, but should not be used in environments with organic and mineral acids, basic solutions and saturated steam.
As regards flooring: wheels recommended on tiles and concrete-resin surfaces, not suitable for use on dirt tracks or in the presence of processing residues. Also this material does not stain nor damage delicate floors.
